THE LIVE BIRD HANDLING SYSTEM MONITORING PLATFORM
The LBH monitoring platform is a suite of software applications for planning, monitoring and collecting data acquired from the Live Bird Handling System. High Productivity and High Speed are two essential features of this system and they need an efficient control. Just like the product must be handled carefully in all its phases, High Productivity and High Speed require a careful management of execution (MES) to reach the performance and maintain it over time.
That starts from a proper analysis of the workflow and the planning of all the resources. This software is fully integrated in a new RFID tag recognition, a weighing system and a camera monitoring for the gas stunning.

Thanks to the RFID system installed on each drawer, it is possible to trace both the bird origin and the catching crew performances. It is also possible to trace the animal welfare respect, during the transfer from the farm to the slaughter house.

The gas stunning process is monitored with the creation of video documents that give compliance with the European Regulation 1099/2009. All key variables affecting the animal welfare are recorded and they can be superimposed to the video for easy reporting. A web based interface gives the user access to the Monitoring Platform. That allows the monitoring of both the system main parameters and the view of recorded events. There is the possibility of diagnostics for the system speed handling.

YIELD MANAGEMENT
The RFID system, together with the recording function, allows the monitoring of both the Drawers and the Frame utilization. That enables preventive maintenance and other best practices. Precise reporting can be easily obtained. Both the modules and the drawers can be weighed at the entrance and at the exit of the line. That is needed for yield and other performance indicators calculation.
